Mid-Atlantic Chamber of Commerce organized June’s networking event on June 3, 2015. Senior Counsel Richard Trimber from General Counsel informed attendees about EB-5 and American Business Development. Trimber talked about the processes that make foreign investors investing legally in the United States.

There are some important points that Mr. Trimber went through. Foreign investors can get the green card by investing. They have to invest at least $500,000 individually not shares with a company. First, they will get EB5 visa after two years if they employ at least 10 jobs, they will get the green card. Their children also get the green card plus instate tuition for school. They have to provide a market plan that shows the business is more likely going to succeed. There are some disadvantages of EB5 visa. Green Card holders must declare their worldwide income and assets in the U.S. for tax purposes. The investors do not manage their businesses by themselves.

The internet is where consumers spend their time. Billboards, newspaper and yellow page ads are getting less traction, as consumers turn to mobile devices, search engine ads, online reviews, social media and visual content to engage with brands. Even Forbes has stated the value of traditional marketing venues such as print newspaper or phone books is waning, since the majority of consumers now read the news online and conduct contact searches via the internet. This is where your company should be doing business, too.

Mid-Atlantic Chamber of Commerce proudly announces the first Networking Breakfast of 2015 that we are hosting internet marketing expert Erdem Demirtas.

Mr. Demirtas works at InternetMarketingCompany.com as marketing manager. He has been in internet marketing business since 2007. He's been managing numerous online marketing campaigns in various scales, from local to nationwide, and international. He holds an MBA degree, and is also an M.S. Information Systems candidate.

Mid-Atlantic Chamber of Commerce organizes the last Monthly Networking Breakfast of the year. Small businesses are a crucial component of the U.S. economy. Their existence and success depend on their ability to access credit, needed for economic recovery and growth. The US Small Business Administration 504 Loan and Certified Development Company program is designed to provide financing for the purchase of fixed assets, which usually means real estate, buildings and machinery, at below market rated.

For most of the past decade, Turkey’s economy has been an example of stable growth, fiscal discipline, and a heaven for foreign direct investment. In the last couple of years, however, the Turkish economy began to exhibit some problems largely due to political intrusions and overly populist policies. In 2014, most of the economic team that had led public economic and financial institutions throughout the years of record economic growth has been replaced with political loyalists.

Mid-Atlantic Chamber of Commerce is pleased to organise an exclusive dinner with Professor Dogan Cansizlar to discuss Turkey’s new political economy and risks ahead. Dogan Cansizlar is professor of economics and finance at Atilim University, Ankara, Turkey. He is the former chairman of Capital Markets Board (SPK), the Turkish equivalent of Securities Exchange Commission in the United States. Throughout his bureaucratic career of more than two decades, Prof. Cansizlar served at the top of various economic policy and public finance related ministries and agencies in Turkey including Ministry of Finance, National Realty Administration and Budget and Financial Control Agency.
